Parks staff report trimming 135 trees and plan winter restroom closures

Parks staff (speaker 1) said park supervisor Ray Kendall and an experienced employee trimmed approximately 135 trees along the South Campus Trail and removed five to seven dead ash trees affected by the ash borer. Staff will continue similar pruning at Jesse James Park and at Mac Porter Park through the winter.
On seasonal facilities, staff said restrooms at Mac Porter Park and Lyons Park will be winterized and locked the last week of October and drinking fountains drained; the Pickleball Court restroom will remain open unless there is a major freeze that would risk pipe damage.
