Board reports crews removed 838 bags/barrels of trash in April–June quarter

Chair opened the Parks and Tree Board meeting with a quarterly report on park maintenance metrics and drew attention to a large volume of litter collected in the first fiscal quarter. "During the first quarter ... we have dumped in Mac Porter Park, Jesse James, and Lyons Park either a combined total of 838 bags of trash or barrels," the Chair said, noting barrels are 55-gallon drums and some larger containers are kept at Lions Park for events.
Ryan, parks staff, said the city is instituting recurring quarterly metrics so departments can compare activity and resource needs across seasons. Board members responded positively and asked staff to continue tracking participation and service-level indicators so future budget or staffing discussions are informed by consistent data.
