Council Member Aaron Studen announced he will resign his council seat before the next meeting and said he intends to attend a TranGo meeting on the third Wednesday before leaving. Mayor Smith proposed a recruitment schedule to fill Council Position 2 for the remainder of the five-month term: letters of intent accepted starting July 9, a submission deadline of July 17, and interviews and potential appointment on July 22.
Council Member Will Menzies moved to follow the proposed schedule; Council Member Tim Matsui seconded the motion and it passed (Council Member Studen was unable to vote due to technical issues). The council also agreed each member will reach out to at least three town residents to encourage applications.
