Selectmen waive Bantam Fire permit fee and award alarm and radio system contracts

Selectman Anne Dranginis moved to award the Bantam Fire Company alarm system bid to Berkshire Alarm; the bid was the only submission and exceeded the budget by $1,495.02, an overage the Bantam Fire Company agreed to cover. The motion passed unanimously.
Dranginis also moved to award the East Litchfield Fire Department radio system bid to Goosetown Communications; that motion also passed unanimously.
Why it matters: the awards and fee waiver support volunteer fire company infrastructure upgrades; the board noted the alarm bid exceeded budget and that the fire company will cover the overage.
