Commissioners approve hiring, vendor account, voucher report and transfers

The Board approved several administrative items on June 30, including the hiring of Hailey Stearns for a full-time Eligibility / Referral Specialist 2 position effective July 6, 2026. The Board also authorized the County Administrator to open a business checking account at Croghan Colonial Bank to hold vending machine profits for use at the annual employee picnic; the action was reviewed by the County Auditor and approved by the Prosecuting Attorney.
The Board approved the Ottawa County Voucher Report dated June 25 & 29, 2026 in the total amount of $219,371.47 and authorized the County Auditor to issue warrants on the County Treasury for payment. Commissioners also authorized transfers and appropriations requested by Municipal Court, the Veteran’s Office, Common Pleas Court and the Engineer’s Office. All motions were moved by Commissioner Donald A. Douglas, seconded by Commissioner Mark E. Coppeler and approved by the Board.
