The board voted to approve a change order with Mammoth to modify the middle-school track runways and pits to allow two-direction runways and support concurrent jumping events, a change administrators said is necessary if the district wants to host meets and better accommodate practices.
Superintendent Nathan Gottlieb reviewed the project history and quoted budget figures discussed during planning: "it was about 3,250,000, down to the adopted proposal from Mammoth at 2,700,000." He said the change order will add a contiguous surface allowing two-direction runways and two pits to be used at once; the motion passed by voice vote.
