Olanta council hears updates on water expansion; SRF bid date set for Aug. 12

Mayor Michael W. Welch told the Olanta Town Council that water is currently being run off on Jones and Bethel as part of the SCIIP A-23-C154 water expansion and that the town is waiting on a permit to operate. He said the project will be completed once the permit is issued.
Welch also reported that bids for the SRF grant project — described in the agenda as lead/copper/asbestos line replacement and water tank rehabilitation (SRF grant 210006-05) — are scheduled for Aug. 12 at 11:30 a.m. The council did not take further action at the meeting beyond receiving the updates and noting timelines for procurement.
