Fire department announces Ultimate Giveaway and spring event schedule

Fire Chief Jeremy Haddix told the council that tickets for the Ultimate Giveaway went on sale the morning of Feb. 24 and that the event has been moved to May 9, 2026. He also described the Cartoon Headquarters Extravaganza planned for April 23–26, 2026, which will include school groups bused in on April 23 and a parade at 11:00 a.m. on April 25 following the Notre Dame High School homecoming route.
The department said Fire & EMS personnel will provide presentations throughout the four-day event. The minutes also note a flea market organized by the Park Board to coincide with the city-wide yard sale; no budgetary or permitting actions were taken at this council meeting.
