The Alto City Council adopted required Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) civil-rights policies and proclaimed April as Fair Housing Month at its April 28, 2025 meeting to satisfy related grant obligations.
Councilman Luke Johnson made the motion to approve the CDBG civil-rights policies, seconded by Councilwoman Shamonica Johnson; the motion passed 4–0. On a related agenda item, Councilman Johnson moved to proclaim April Fair Housing Month, a motion also seconded by Councilwoman Shamonica Johnson and approved unanimously. The minutes state that the fair-housing proclamation will help fulfill fair-housing activity obligations required by the grant.
The minutes do not include the full text of the civil-rights policies or the proclamation; they record only that the council adopted the policies and the proclamation and that the actions were tied to grant compliance.
