The Lake Forest Community High School District 115 board voted to adopt the 2025 tentative tax levy on Nov. 11, approving a motion to set the levy that will return for a final vote in December.
"This is the tentative tax levy that you're voting on tonight," Jen, a district finance staff member, told the board and said administrators will continue five-year forecasting and bring recommended changes to the December meeting before the county finalizes data for tax bills. The board moved, seconded and approved the tentative levy on a roll-call vote; the motion was recorded as carried.
Jen explained the county typically prepares tax bills in March/April, with first-installment payments due in June and second-installment payments due in September, and reminded the board that they may reduce or increase the levy before the final December vote.
