The Lake Forest Community High School District 115 board recognized senior student Gavin Stakes as the districtspotlight winner, calling out his resilience, leadership and positive presence.
"Gavin is our anchor," said Mr. Jacob, a classroom teacher, describing the studentleadership he observed on a field trip and in class. Michelle Lorenz, a Lake Forest High School teacher, added, "He's steady, positive, and focused," and presented the award. Gavin thanked the board briefly, saying, "I don't really prefer a speech or anything, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. And go, Scouts."
