Commissioners appoint six founding members to Allen County Fire & EMS District Board of Fire Trustees

The Allen County Board of Commissioners appointed six members to the new Allen County Fire & EMS District Board of Fire Trustees and established staggered initial terms so subsequent appointments will be for four years. The commissioner-appointed members are Robert Byrd; Larry Owen (1-year appointment); Barry Kunkle; Mike Messman (2-year appointment); Brian Minich; and Garry Morr (3-year appointment).
Chief of Staff Chris Cloud introduced the slate and noted the board is statutorily required and intended to provide oversight for the newly created district. Commissioner Ronald W. Turpin said he is "very comfortable" with all the members. Therese M. Brown moved approval; the motion passed 3-0.
