Public Works reports crack-sealing prep, inspector named for Old Highway 81 project

Chris Smith, Ottawa County Public Works Director, provided an update on Road & Bridge operations and projects. He reported a list of completed projects since March 9, said the department is preparing for a county-wide crack sealing effort that will require full crew participation, and stated that Kirkham Michael was selected as the inspector for the Old Highway 81 project.
Smith told the Board he submitted documentation to FEMA regarding storm-related damage on 230th south of Highway 18 and is waiting for FEMA to respond about reimbursement. He also noted that the landfill is leased. Commissioner Carla Grund said she will work on a Capital Improvement Plan for Road & Bridge to assist longer-term planning.
