Residents press for groundwater, Williamson Act and water-supply analysis in EIR

Several speakers asked the EIR to address water supply, aquifer connectivity and the effect of new development on existing wells and town water service. Andy Twist asked for proof that the three aquifers are separate and how the project would affect wells that currently supply the town; he also raised the Williamson Act and how long it takes to remove contracts.
Trevor Masinski said resource agencies including the Department of Water Resources will be part of the process and that water impacts will be evaluated under the appropriate resource sections in the draft EIR. Staff did not provide immediate technical answers at the meeting, instead directing detailed questions to the NOP comment process and technical appendices.
