Steuben County approves MOU with Village of Bath for Dana Lyons bus shelter

Steuben County officials voted to approve an MOU with the Village of Bath to reinstall a bus shelter near the Dana Lyons building. Marie introduced the MOU and explained the village will receive and assemble the shelter while the county remains responsible for the infrastructure and installation.
The board also approved a separate bid award for a Handy Hut 5-by-15-foot domed transit shelter priced at $17,825, which the presenter said includes a bench and will fit a new ADA-compliant concrete pad. A member asked whether seating was included; the presenter confirmed "It has a bench." The motion to accept the bid was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Officials said the shelter and nearby crosswalks may boost ridership once the adjacent development opens.
