A board member introduced 8th grader Victoria Petakova, who earned first place in the Monmouth County essay contest "What does patriotism mean to you?" and read her winning essay to the meeting. The board applauded and a teacher was offered to distribute copies: "If anybody's interested in a copy of her poem, Miss Lavery has a copy," a board member said.
The senior class president reviewed recent senior events — academic awards, athletic awards, an open mic and a Pocono Valley trip — and said graduation for the Class of 2026 will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at Keanford High School. Board members congratulated students and staff and thanked volunteers for event support.
