The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 19 approved payment of current claims and certified additional general-fund disbursements for July. The board voted to pay $35,128.65 in current claims and to certify $2,171,100.55 in additional checks and ACH payments for July, including $1,257,453.34 in ACH transactions and $913,647.21 in checks.
Chair (speaker_6) called the finance items during the board’s new-business agenda. Finance committee chair Sarkella moved the claims and the motion received support from Commissioner Ballard; the motions carried by voice vote. The approvals also included a set of budget amendments the board described as establishing new accounts and reallocations reflected in the board’s finance agenda.
Board members asked no substantive questions before voting. The items were presented together under agenda codes FA3117-25 (current claims), FA119-25 (additional July checks) and related budget amendments. The board made no changes to the dollar figures presented and approved the packet as submitted.
The approvals clear the way for routine county payments and the financial-account changes needed for ongoing operations. The board’s finance materials indicated the additional checks covered a mixture of payroll, vendor ACH transactions and operating expenses for county departments; the agenda packet was certified by the finance committee and approved by the full board.
