Board adopts positive evaluation and continues superintendent's contract

The Silver Falls School District board voted unanimously to adopt the annual performance evaluation of Superintendent Kim Kallison and to continue her contract for a second year. Derek (Speaker 16), who led the evaluation process, read the executive summary that said the superintendent "has continued to make significant strides in improving the district through her collaborative and effective leadership style." The board moved and seconded the adoption before approving it by voice vote.

The written summary — prepared using the Oregon School Board Association and CO‑OSA superintendent evaluation workbook — rated Kallison "accomplished" across eight professional standards the board examined, including fiscal management, organizational management and communications. Speaker 16 told the board the review included feedback gathered while three new board members joined the group and that all seven board directors had the opportunity to observe the superintendent's work. The motion to adopt the evaluation was moved by Speaker 6 and seconded by Speaker 16; the board voted to approve the continuation of the superintendent's employment unanimously.
