Committee approves mobility-management contract tied to 5311 funding

Ms. Myers Shearing said the funding comes from both state and federal sources and the contract term runs from January 1, 2023, to March 31, 2029. When committee member Robert V. Nichols asked, "are we talking about wheelchairs?" Myers Shearing clarified that the mobility managers assist riders in matching bus routes to their needs rather than supplying wheelchairs.
The committee approved the authorization by a 4-0 vote. The county noted the contract will formalize mobility-management functions tied to NYSDOT/FTA funding and will cover the multi-year grant period described during the meeting.
