County authorizes MOU with Village of Bath for Dana Lyons bus shelter

The Steuben County Agriculture, Industry and Planning Committee on July 1 authorized the Planning Director to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the Village of Bath to place a bus shelter at the Dana Lyons Building.
"The bus shelter will be delivered to them, they will assemble it and put it on the site, and the Village will be responsible for maintaining it," Planning Director Marie Myers Shearing said, describing the split in responsibilities; Jack K. Wheeler added that because the site is village property, the County will supply the infrastructure.
The committee approved the MOU by voice vote, recorded as 4-0 in favor. The motion followed a routine presentation of the shelter plan and included a provision that the Village will handle assembly and ongoing maintenance. The MOU will allow the project to proceed to procurement and installation.
