Steuben County creates four EMS positions to make Woodhull Ambulance 24/7

The Legislature approved two full-time paramedic positions (CSEA Grade J) and two full-time EMT positions (CSEA Grade F) in Emergency Services to support staffing of the Woodhull Ambulance and enable 24/7 operations.
The Steuben County Legislature on June 22 adopted resolutions creating four full-time Emergency Services positions intended to staff the Woodhull Ambulance. Resolution 142-26 created two Paramedic positions (CSEA Grade J, $58,712–$86,878) and Resolution 143-26 created two Emergency Medical Technician positions (CSEA Grade F, $39,753–$58,803). Thew explained the positions are intended to staff Woodhull as a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week operation.
During discussion Mr. Eberlin asked whether the positions would be specific to Woodhull or rotate; Mr. Wheeler responded they "will have the opportunity to rotate, and that would be through overtime," and noted the hires represent minimum staffing needed to make Woodhull a continuous operation. The resolutions were adopted by roll call and certified copies will be forwarded to the Director of Emergency Services, the Personnel Officer and the Commissioner of Finance.
