Legislature approves CHIPS and highway funding appropriations for pothole and extreme weather repairs

The Steuben County Legislature on June 22 approved appropriations tied to the consolidated highway improvement program (CHIPS), extreme weather recovery and related 'Pave Our Potholes' and 'Pave New York' funding streams. Resolution 3 (introduced by Pelham and Vanentin) and Resolution 5 (introduced by Pelham and Vanetten) were read and then approved by roll-call votes.
Separately, Resolution 4 (introduced by Pelham and Vanentin) authorized the commissioner of finance to transfer $800,000 from the road project fund to the road improvement unassigned account. The clerk called the roll for each measure and announced that each resolution carried.
