During department reports, a resident asked to have a water meter installed and requested to rent the city backhoe; the rental would require payment for two city employees. Council member Wellington Butler said he opposed renting city equipment to residents because of liability; Crystal Wade asked staff to determine how workers' compensation and retirement would be handled if employees were reimbursed for such work.
The City Clerk reported that Sue Kill had contacted city hall about an SEK magazine reimbursement from the tourist guest tax; the council directed the clerk to have Sue Kill contact the tourist guest tax board. Council also asked that department heads sign off on invoices to preserve budget authority. The meeting adjourned at 6:26 PM.
