Residents urge Horry County to preserve Socastee disc golf course; business owner says solution found at Saugusty Park

"Once I read about these developments, I reached out to Councilman Servant, who directed me to Councilman Crawford," Robinson said, and added that the parties "were able to find an amicable solution that provides an 18 hole championship level disc golf course at Saugusty Park." Robinson said the course will "look a little different" but called the outcome a brighter future for local recreation.
Council members thanked both speakers and closed public input without taking formal action on the course during the meeting. Parks and Recreation staff were commended in public remarks for meeting with the disc golf community and outlining a path forward; no vote or binding commitment from the council on the Socastee course was recorded in the transcript.
