Council accepts Cal Water grant to fund ballistic gear for Dixon Fire

The council voted Aug. 5 to accept a firefighter grant from Cal Water to fund ballistic personal protective equipment for the Dixon Fire Department. Staff said the department applied in September 2024 and was later notified it had been awarded the grant; the resolution authorizes acceptance of the funds.
A Cal Water representative, Shannon McGovern, praised Dixon Fire and described Cal Water’s firefighter grant program. “Dixon Fire actually was the recipient of one of those grants,” McGovern said, congratulating staff. The council approved the resolution by roll call with unanimous ayes.
