Guymon Fire Chief Grant Wadley told the Board July 27 that the county should keep its burn ban in place because high temperatures and recent lightning strikes have produced several small grass fires.
Wadley said, "It is going to over 100 all week," and told commissioners crews had responded to multiple small grass fires, mostly started by lightning. He recommended maintaining the burn ban; commissioners did not record any motion to lift it during this meeting.
