Staff said the district will run practice ACTs for freshmen, sophomores and juniors; freshmen will take the ACT 8/9 on the same day juniors take the official ACT, and technical adjustments are planned because students reported timing challenges on the new online format.
To improve outcomes, staff will deploy Methodize (an online study program with 12 units and 50 lessons) during block and TAP/advisory days, require practice questioning across courses and use ACT-style anticipatory items tied to curriculum. Staff characterized the baseline as disappointing but said department teams have already prepared targeted interventions.
