Brian Jenkins, representing the county Weed department, told commissioners on Oct. 20 that the existing weed building is inadequate to safely store chemicals and house machinery. Jenkins described needs for proper storage and handling of chemicals and equipment and argued a new or repaired facility would improve staff efficiency and operations.
The board did not take immediate action; commissioners said they would evaluate remaining budget at year-end to determine whether funds could be allocated for repair or replacement within the next two to three years.
