Dan Priestley, planning and zoning director, told supervisors the county solicited applications and received relatively few candidates for the zoning commission opening, and recommended reappointing the incumbent, Chris Zellmer Zant, to a five-year term. Priestley described the routine process used to solicit and vet applicants and said the incumbent had agreed to serve another term.
Priestley said the county followed its normal procedure beginning in mid-October to solicit applications and that when there are multiple candidates the board has previously conducted interviews. With limited applicants this cycle, staff submitted the incumbent for board approval; supervisors approved the appointment by unanimous vote (motion by Nelson, seconded by Ong).
No additional conditions or interview process were recorded in the minutes for this appointment.
