The Village of South Range Council on Jan. 9 endorsed Personnel Committee recommendations to establish regular on‑site clerk hours and to hire a part‑time assistant to back up the full‑time clerk. Trustee Marier moved to post the part‑time Clerk Assistant opening; Trustee Korby supported the motion and the council voted unanimously to post the position with a deadline of Feb. 5, 2025 at 5:00 PM.
Clerk Kristen Archambeau told the council she had completed quarterly taxes for 2024 and would work on end‑of‑year tasks after the budget meeting; the minutes record that she previously proposed earlier remote start times and weekend work to finish tasks. The Personnel Committee recommended the clerk remain full‑time, set office hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with open public hours 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and locked office hours 12:00 PM–4:00 PM, and said the part‑time assistant should be cross‑trained as backup. Council members said they do not want remote work at this time because the village lacks software to track hours.
