Montgomery Elementary School students selected a weeping willow for the 2026 graduating class and provided the quote, "How big would you dream if you knew you couldn't fail?" Patrick Calecas reported he picked up the tree, priced at $50 thanks to a discount from Phil at Beaver Meadow Nursery, and said the tree would be planted the morning of June 9, 2026. The commission discussed a plaque to accompany the planting; Lynn Locher agreed to research plaque options.
Joan Hildreth moved to authorize spending up to $125 for the combined cost of the tree and plaque; Matt Paggi seconded the motion and all present voted in favor. The motion passed, and the commission recorded the purchase and planting plan. No further funding sources were specified at the meeting.
