County staff notified commissioners of active flooding in north Sedgwick County and said 911 has seen increased call volume. Staff reported "Valley Center has serious flooding matters right now" and that Broadway had flooded in places; county emergency staff planned partial or full road closures in several unincorporated locations.
Fire Chief Doug Williams said the county is coordinating with the regional Task Force 5 and holding in-county resources until mutual-aid requests are resolved, adding that local task-force coordination is ongoing so deployments don’t deplete nearby coverage. County staff said they would keep the commission updated as closures and response needs evolve.
