City parks staff updated commissioners on the Rush Creek Territorial Trail and described coordination with 3 Rivers Park District on easements and land purchases.
A staff member said the city has "been having some discussions with 3 Rivers Park District" and that the district "is gonna pay for the majority of the purchase of the land and the construction" for the segment that crosses shared parkland. Staff clarified Dayton will be responsible for the stretch from Territorial Road up into Rush Creek Parkway and that plans and specs are being prepared for future bidding.
Commissioners and staff discussed easement offers to residents and the need to prepare final plans before advertising for bids; staff said they expect to be able to bid later this year once the plans are complete.
