Board transfers $3,000 to pay for removal of 17 trees at Hillcrest Cemetery

Facilities Director Doug Homestead reported the county located a contractor to remove 17 trees at Hillcrest Cemetery; the cost would exhaust the cemetery budget for the year, so he requested a $3,000 transfer from General Fund contingency. Chair Hockaday recommended approval based on the trees causing messy and difficult conditions.
Commissioner John Cassinelli moved to approve the transfer; Commissioner Robert Jacobson seconded and the motion passed 5-0. The transfer is intended to fund the tree removal without reducing ongoing cemetery operations.
