Resident urges village to remove ‘aggressive’ speed bumps or cut speed limit

Board members said they have heard mixed feedback from neighbors and that enforcement on the small loop is limited. The chair said the village is not constrained by a state regulation for installing the devices on that private loop and that the board would “take it under consideration” and monitor residents’ reactions. Some board members suggested alternatives, including a lower posted speed (15 mph) or gentler humps and collecting petitions from affected households. The board did not vote to remove the bumps at the meeting.
