Village of Nassau Board approves June 2026 tax-collection notice
Summary

The Chair read a formal notice of tax collection for the Village of Nassau, stating: "Notice is hereby given that the tax roll and warrant for the Village Of Nassau in New York has been left with me for collection of taxes levied," and specifying that taxes "will be collected from 06/01/2026 through 06/30/2026 without additional charge." The notice listed the Village Municipal Building at 40 Malden Street as the collection location and said unpaid taxes after 06/30/2026 will incur a 5% penalty for July and 1% per month thereafter; any taxes still unpaid on 11/01/2026 will be turned over to Rensselaer County for collection.
After the Chair finished reading the notice, a Committee member asked whether a vote was required; the Committee member moved to approve the notice, another member seconded, and the Chair called for the voice vote. Members responded "Aye" and the Chair announced that the motion carried. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the minutes; the motion was approved by voice vote.
