The Kenyon-Wanamingo board approved multiple personnel items recorded in the June 23 minutes. The personnel report (approved Jarvis/Paquin, 5-0) documents the resignation of Bob Trelstad (custodian, effective 6/02/2025), and appointments including Hannah Eckblad (high-school English teacher, BA+10, Step 7, effective 2025–2026), Ricky Zapata (full-time lead custodian, Class 2 Step 1, effective June 2, 2025), and summer-staff appointments for the Knight Kids program. The minutes also record a requested FMLA leave for Ag Teacher Dakota Sayer from Aug. 26–Oct. 1, 2025.
Separately, the board on motion adopted a resolution placing Brent Lurken on unrequested leave of absence (.33 FTE) due to lack of pupils and financial limitations; the motion passed with Jarvis, Syverson, Paquin and Aronson voting yes and Lurken abstaining. The board approved a Facilities Manager contract for 2025–2028 (Paquin/Aronson) by a 5-0 vote. Human-resources follow-up and contract processing were assigned to the business office and district administration.
