The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Hewlett Neck voted unanimously April 14 to adopt the tentative budget for the fiscal year beginning June 1, 2026 and ending May 31, 2027. Mayor Moshe Blinder moved the adoption; Trustee Russel Weinrib seconded the motion and it carried by unanimous vote of those present.
The resolution directed that a certified copy of the final budget be filed with the New York State Comptroller’s office and attached to the minutes. The Board also set the tax rates to apply per $100 of assessed valuation as shown on the 2026 Assessment Roll prepared by the Nassau County Assessor: Class 1 — 139.339; Class 3 — 2.990; Class 4 — 8.991. The Clerk was authorized to extend the Roll and to deliver the Assessment Roll to the Treasurer on or before May 20, 2026 with a warrant signed by the Mayor.
The resolution instructed the Clerk to mail tax bills to all persons and corporations whose names appear on the assessment roll subsequent to May 25, 2026, and directed publication and posting of statutory notice per New York Real Property Tax Law. The Board’s adopted text also approved salary increases for listed employees effective June 1, 2025 (Michelle Blandino 3%; Karen Quintavalle 3%; Dana Garraputa $1,666.66), as recorded in the adopted minutes.
