The City of Greensboro is accepting new school supplies or donations equal to the value of a parking ticket as payment through Oct. 31 to benefit the ShiftEd teacher supply warehouse.
"Back by popular demand, pay your parking ticket with school supplies," Rosemary Plyben said on the FYI Weekly program. Donations must be equal to or greater than the value of the ticket; residents can drop off supplies with a receipt at the Greensboro Police Department headquarters at 100 East Police Plaza or at parking enforcement at 300 South Swing Road, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
City materials direct listeners to shift-ed.org for details about the program and how supplies are used to support teachers and classrooms.
