The district's finance committee reported a notable year-over-year increase in cash balances. "What I have is our district ended up with an increased cash balance of 10,630,000," a committee member told the board, adding the capital projects fund increased by $1,176,000 for a combined increase "for a total increase in cash of about 11.815" million over the prior year's balance.
The committee said revenues exceeded expenses for the period discussed and credited staff for fiscal management. Members emphasized the importance of seeking grants to support programs and called for continued prudent spending.
No formal vote on budget changes was recorded during the Aug. 5 meeting; the finance presentation was delivered as part of routine committee reporting.
