Two formal actions were taken during the City of Mesa's Aug. 10 special remote meeting: a resolution canvassing and adopting the July 21, 2026 primary-election results, and a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a development agreement and related documents for an AC Hotel by Marriott. Both measures passed by unanimous roll-call votes.
Motions and outcomes: Item 1(a) (canvass of primary results) was moved by Vice Mayor Garrett Summers and seconded by Councilmember Jen Duff; roll-call votes by councilmembers Adams, Taylor, Heredia, Duff, Go Forth, Vice Mayor Summers and the chair were recorded as "Yes." Item 1(b) (AC Hotel development-authorizing resolution) was moved by Councilmember Jen Duff and seconded by Councilmember Adams and likewise passed on a unanimous roll-call. The chair closed the special meeting after the votes.
