The Mesa City Council unanimously approved a resolution canvassing and adopting the results of the July 21, 2026 primary election during a special remote meeting on Aug. 10, 2026. The chair opened the session from the Council Studies Room and announced that all council members were present remotely.
The chair said, "I wanna congratulate vice mayor Summers and Nick Willis on their elections," and noted that in District 5 the top two candidates — including Councilmember Go Forth — will move forward to the November general election. Vice Mayor Garrett Summers moved to approve the canvassing resolution and Councilmember Jen Duff seconded. The clerk conducted a roll-call vote by district (Adams, Taylor, Heredia, Duff, Go Forth, Vice Mayor Summers), each voting "Yes," and the motion passed unanimously.
