Jerseyville council accepts FY25 audit with positive opinion from Scheffel Boyle

The Jerseyville City Council unanimously approved the FY25 audit after auditors from Scheffel Boyle presented a summary and a positive opinion of the city’s financial statements under a modified cash basis.
The Jerseyville City Council voted unanimously Oct. 14 to accept the fiscal year 2025 audit presented by Scheffel Boyle. Auditor Danny Phipps reviewed the summary pages and communications required by the auditors, noting accounting estimates, adjustments and that there were no issues working with management.
Phipps said the summary report included the auditor’s “positive opinion of the audited statements under a modified cash basis.” Commissioner John Miles moved to approve the audit and Commissioner Anthony Steckel seconded; the motion carried on a roll-call vote with all members present voting aye. The audit package included three-year revenue and expense comparisons and the required auditor communications for the council’s records.
