Waelder ISD approves tiered winter stipends for employees and substitutes

Waelder ISD trustees approved a tiered winter stipend for active district employees and eligible substitutes on Nov. 17. The board recorded unanimous approval after Superintendent Dr. Ron Lilie recommended the stipend plan.
The approved schedule specifies $500 for active employees hired as of Sept. 1, 2025; $250 for active employees hired as of Oct. 15, 2025; $100 for newly hired active employees; and $100 for substitutes who completed a minimum of 10 full‑day assignments. Troy Sullivan moved to approve the stipends, Adolph Gonzales seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The minutes state stipends will be issued on or about Dec. 19, 2025.
