The board considered an action-item update to the library’s request-for-review-of-materials form after the legislature changed the statutory definitions the form referenced.
Library Director Steve Baumgarner explained that the city attorney revised the form to reflect the new definitions in Senate Bill 1448. "The form that the city attorney, wrote, everything's been updated to reflect the new definitions in, Senate Bill 14 48," Baumgarner said. A trustee moved to approve the revised form; another trustee seconded, and the board approved the update by voice vote.
The board did not amend the city-attorney draft during discussion; trustees noted only a scrivener’s error (an '0' instead of an 'o') in one part of the packet and characterized it as a minor correction. Staff will replace the prior form with the updated version.
