Applicant asks commission to keep CUP tied to building and to add landscaping review
Summary
ALC Architecture's Chad Jones asked the commission to change site-specific conditions so the CUP applies to the existing building rather than the entire development and to consolidate landscaping review rather than leave it to separate certificates of zoning compliance.

Chad Jones, the applicant's representative from ALC Architecture, told the commission he wanted site-specific conditions adjusted so the conditional use permit and related approvals referenced the existing building, not the entire development, and that landscaping be addressed in one amended design review.
"Chad Jones. I'm representing ALC Architecture," he said when he introduced himself to the commission before outlining the request. Jones argued it would be "fairly improper" to tie the CUP to a single named tenant and asked that site-specific condition language be changed to reference the structure so a future tenant using the same drive-through configuration could be accommodated without a separate CUP if the code allows.
Jones also asked that landscaping be incorporated into a single certificate of zoning compliance rather than split across approvals, and staff indicated they had no objection to amending the design review to include landscaping, noting the intent was to provide clear compliance for both the applicant and the city.
The commission's eventual motion reflected those requests by removing tenant-specific language and addressing landscaping through the DA and site-specific conditions.
