Commissioners approved proceeding with the purchase of a 2022 Chevrolet pickup that a local police department removed from service. The vehicle was offered to the county for $35,000; commissioners discussed funding sources, removing radios and other equipment, and selling the county’s existing vehicle on GovDeals with a reserve price.
An official told the board the truck had about 29,000 miles and that the $35,000 figure would be paid from an emergency/safety fund pending county council approval. Commissioners moved and voted in favor of proceeding, and staff will prepare paperwork for the county council.
