Orange County commissioners voted to proceed with USI Consultants under an on‑call contract to support the 2027 Countywide Community Maintenance Grant (CCMG) process.
Highway Superintendent Carl told the board that the consultant work covers mapping, CCMG project development and application, bid documentation, construction administration and project closeout. Carl described the firm’s price as “the amount not to see the $17,500” and recommended moving forward; the motion to authorize the engagement passed on voice vote.
The agreement will fund consultant tasks intended to prepare the county’s CCMG applications and manage related construction efforts. Commissioners said they have had a positive relationship with USI and expect staff to circulate the full contract paperwork for signature.
