CAC urges Town Council to boost match and budget full amount ahead of DOS grant deadline

With the Department of State grant deadline on July 31, the council recommended asking the Town Council to double the local match to reduce the requested grant amount and to budget the full project amount if the grant is not awarded.
During the June 19 meeting, Jamie Carano Nordenstrom told the Conservation Advisory Council that the deadline for the Department of State (DOS) grant application for the Comprehensive Plan is July 31. Nordenstrom suggested the CAC ask the Town Council to double the local match so the grant request could be reduced and to budget the full Comprehensive Plan amount in the town budget in case the DOS grant is not approved.
David Lewis and Mary King were assigned to review the Comprehensive Plan vision statement as part of next steps. The minutes include no dollar amounts or a formal vote on the funding approach; the proposal is recorded as a recommendation to the Town Council.
