The Avon Tree Commission accepted the resignation of member Megan Engelmann after she announced plans to relocate to Tremont at the beginning of August. Engelmann addressed the Commission, thanked members for the experience and said she hoped to remain involved in civic activities in her new community.
A motion by Matt Smith, seconded by Mary Johnson, to accept Engelmann's resignation passed unanimously with seven votes in favor. Commissioners offered warm farewell remarks and Chair Richard Varga invited Engelmann to attend future Arbor Day events. "She truly enjoyed her time with the Commission and learned a lot from everyone," Engelmann said.
